PAYETTE -- A second man has been arrested and charged with first degree murder in the stabbing death of teacher Elizabeth Baune.
The Payette County Prosecutor's Office announced the arrest of Jonathan Hernandez late Friday night.
Prosecutors believe that Hernandez and 24-year-old Michael Culley killed Baune while committing a burglary at her Payette home.
Baune, 45, was found dead inside her home Wednesday night. An autopsy revealed she died of multiple stab wounds to the head and chest.
Police arrested Culley on Friday morning at a gas station just across the border in Ontario, Oregon.
Hernandez was arrested in Payette Friday.
Both men are being held without bond in the Payette County Jail.
Officials say Culley was a former roommate to Baune. A friend of the victim says Culley was a second cousin to Baune.
Deputies were called to a home north of Payette just before 11 p.m. Wednesday to investigate the homicide. They identified Culley as a "person of interest" shortly afterward.
Police are asking anyone who may have information about the case to contact the Payette County Sheriff's Office at (208) 642-6008.
