PULLMAN, Wash. -- A Washington State University student who fell from the window of a dormitory last week was listed in satisfactory condition as of Monday.
The October 11th incident is the third time this semester a student had been hospitalized after falling from a building.
Asst. WSU Police Chief Steve Hansen tells KREM the man, 22, is a junior at the university. Ofc. Hansen says he fell from a window from the 11th floor of Orton Hall, but was conscious when officers found him. A witness told KREM 2's Othello Richards the student complained of leg pain after the fall. The student apparently hit a tree, which slowed down his fall.
Hansen says there was no immediate sign of a crime or apparent alcohol use. Authorities say the student wasn’t drunk.
The student was taken first to Pullman Regional Hospital and then flown to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. His condition remains unknown.
