PORTLAND – A woman was killed on the Burnside Bridge in a hit-and-run early Sunday morning, police said.
Officers learned from witnesses that a white Chevrolet Impala hit the woman who was believed to be in her 20s shortly after 2:30 a.m., said Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.
Authorities arrested 30-year-old Kemisha Anderson in connection with the hit-and-run and charged her with DUII and failure to perform the duties of a driver.
Witnesses also told police the victim may have been sleeping on the bridge when she got up disoriented and wandered into traffic, Simpson said.
The Burnside Bridge was shut down for several hours during the investigation.
