Members of the Teamsters Local 117 on Saturday voted to strike.  That decision could cripple one of the largest distributors of organic and natural foods in the Pacific Northwest.

The Teamsters are truck drivers and warehouse workers for United National Food, Incorporated.   The company supplies food to stores such as Whole Foods, PCC and Safeway.

At The Grainery, a long-time health food grocery store in Burien, owner Bob Spendlove said a strike would have a devastating impact on business.  He estimated UNFI delivers up to half the products on their shelves.

A Teamsters 117 spokesperson said 160 union members are affected.

It's not yet clear when a strike would begin
