PORTLAND – A burglary suspect surrendered to police after coming out the front door of a home in North Portland Sunday.

Police said a 9-1-1 caller reported hearing broken glass and seeing someone crawling into the window of a home on the 1400 block of North Rosa Parks Way Sunday morning. Police set up officers around the house, which has a business on the main floor and a residence on the lower level.

Officers said they rang the doorbell and the suspect went to the back window he entered through, saw officers, then went out the front door where he was arrested.

Police charged 42-year-old Clifford Towers with burglary and criminal mischief.
