PAYETTE COUNTY -- Authorities in Payette County are treating the death of a 60-year-old woman found dead in home Sunday morning as a homicide.
The Payette County Sheriff's Office dispatch was notified of the woman's death at 6:53 a.m.
Deputies, along with officers from the Fruitland Police Department responded to a residence at 2550 NW 2nd Avenue, where they found a deceased woman inside.
The Payette County Sheriff's Office and the Idaho State Police are looking for a person of interest.
Eighteen-year-old Tyler Naughton is wanted for questioning. He is relative of the victim. Police believe he may still be in Idaho and driving a tan 2006 Ford F350 pickup truck, with license plate 1P 3214T.
Investigators say Naughton knew the victim. They do not consider this a home invasion.
"There shouldn't be any alarm for the citizens of Payette County," said Payette County Sheriff Chad Huff. "We are actively searching for that person of interest at this point. Quite possibly, he will become a suspect in the future."
Anyone who has seen the pickup truck or Naughton, is urged to call their local law enforcement immediately.
The victim's name has not been released pending notification of relatives. Police did not release a cause of death, and are awaiting results from an autopsy.
