LAWRENCE, N.J. (AP) — Charges have been filed against the driver of a dump truck police say rammed into a car at a traffic light on Thursday, sending both vehicles into a nearby lake and killing the car's driver.

The Mercer County prosecutor's office says 38-year-old Daniel C. Everett, of Westampton, faces death by auto and other charges in a collision that killed 59-year-old James McLean, of Trenton.

Prosecutors say Everett hit McLean's car at a Lawrence intersection and pushed it more than 200 feet into a park and then into a lake. Rescuers say the dump truck was in the water on top of the submerged vehicle.

Authorities said Friday that Everett remains hospitalized with accident-related injuries. Bail has been set at $250,000. It's not known if he has an attorney.
