HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — Police say a car had apparently been parked in a Maryland school parking lot for hours before a woman and her two young daughters were found dead inside the vehicle.

Capt. Paul Kifer said Wednesday that people reported seeing the small silver sedan at Western Heights Middle School on Monday morning, hours before an employee noticed the bodies inside the closed-up vehicle on a 90-degree afternoon.

He says surveillance video from a local Wal-Mart where the 32-year-old Guyanese immigrant worked showed her buying a DVD player before 6 a.m. Monday. The machine and a receipt were found in the car.

Kifer says the car contained no drugs, note or other clues about how they died.

He says it could take the state medical examiner's office weeks to determine the cause of death.
