PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton and Jeb Bush may share a presidential debate stage in 2016. But first these members of two prominent political families are standing together to celebrate civics and public service.
Bush awarded the former secretary of state with the National Constitution Center's Liberty medal on Tuesday, honoring Clinton's career in public service. The former Florida governor is chairman of the center, which serves as a headquarters of civic education.
Both Clinton and Bush are potential White House candidates in 2016.
Bush joked that they both agree with the wisdom of Americans, especially those living in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
Clinton spoke shortly before President Barack Obama was to address the nation on the crisis in Syria, saying it demands a strong response.
