Man dies after collision with semi in Marion County

HUBBARD, Ore. -- A man is dead after his car collided with a semitrailer on Highway 99E north of Hubbard.

Police say 20-year-old Andrew Pine of Hubbard was driving a 2008 Ford Ranger southbound when he crossed over into the oncoming lane and crashed into a semitrailer pulling two loads of lumber.

Pine was flown by helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the semitrailer, 58-year-old Patrick Bryant, of Battle Ground, Washington, was not injured.

Police said both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

Highway 99E was closed for about an hour and a half following the collision.
