Lebanon Fire District responds to 1st alarm field fire

LEBANON, Ore.-- The Lebanon Fire District was dispatched to a report of a grass fire in the 32000 block of Hidden Valley Rd. Saturday afternoon.

Fire crews arrived and made an aggressive attack on the fire, which was burning in a cut grass field with cattle present. Local residents had already began fighting the fire with garden hoses, to stop the fire from spreading to neighboring homes and shops.

Fire crews spent an hour and ten minutes mopping up hot spots and making sure all smoldering areas were extinguished. No injuries were reported and no damage sustained to buildings or equipment. Lebanon Fire responded with 15 total personnel, and assisted by the Oregon Department of Forestry.

The fire is thought to be caused by a lawnmower used earlier in the afternoon.
