PORTLAND, Ore. – Traffic on Northeast 33rd Avenue between Northeast Morris and Siskiyou streets will remain closed until Wednesday morning while crews work to fix a broken water main.
The pipe was reported broken about 3 a.m. Tuesday.
The Portland Water Bureau said the street will reopen with a temporary surface on Wednesday. An additional street repair will be done at a later date.
Approximately 72 homes are out of water service.
Other homes may see discolored water as sediment inside the pipe is disturbed. The water is safe to drink but customers should run their taps until water runs clear, the bureau says.
