Teen cyclist in critical condition after being hit by car in Vancouver

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was hit by a car while riding his bike in Vancouver on Thursday morning.

Vancouver police say the boy was crossing the road at the intersection of Mill Plain Boulevard and East Reserve Street. He didn't push the crosswalk signal and rode out in front of a car that was unable to stop on time, hitting the boy.

The boy was taken to a local hospital with significant injuries. Police say he is in critical condition.

The driver of the car remained at the scene of the crash and is cooperating with police, who say there is no indication that impairment or speed were factors in the crash.
