SPOKANE, Wash. – If you are looking to give this holiday season, consider donating to the families at the Ronald McDonald House.
The Ronald McDonald House provides families a home away from home while they are taking care of children who are at local hospitals.
Katie Hawkins is a mother of four from Moscow, Idaho. Three of her children were born prematurely and she could not make the commute between home and the hospital.
Currently, Hawkins has one little girl at the hospital who is getting strong and healthy so she can soon go home with her family. Hawkins said the Ronald McDonald House has provided her with a safe, nurturing place for her and her family to stay while their little one receives treatment.
“I don’t think we can do it as a parent without the Ronald McDonald House, period. It takes the burden off of living far away. If I get nervous to have the baby near me and not be far away, it’s everything,” said Hawkins.
If you are interested in helping the Ronald McDonald House, you can donate items on the house Christmas wish list.
