SCRAPS receives record breaking number of kittens

SPOKANE, Wash. --- SCRAPS needs your help after they received thirty kittens in less than thirty minutes on Friday.

It is normal for SCRAPS to receive up to 30 cats and kittens a day, during the summer months, but never thirty kittens within a half hour.

The record intake was partly due to a single person, who brought in 17 kittens.

“We’ve had kittens come to us in large litters, perhaps six or seven,” said Nancy Hill, the Regional Director for SCRAPS. “Having one person relinquish 17 healthy, adoptable kittens all at once is a first,” she added.

All of the kittens will get an examination and receive their final vaccinations. The kittens are 12 to 13 weeks old.

They will be up for adoption starting Saturday morning. The adoption fee is $62.70, which includes having the kittens spayed/neutered and microchipped. The kittens will also come with a license and exam.

SCRAPS needs your help finding homes for all of them.

SCRAPS is located at 6815 E. Trent Ave.
