SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Public Schools said they have been seeing a boost in enrollment every year, and on Monday they said more students means the need for more space.
Some of the district’s buildings are also badly in need of upgrades, SPS officials said, and those upgrades are now starting to happen.
The NewTech Skill Center located just off of Regal Street and Garland is one of the first of several schools in the district to expand and update.
Salk Middle School and Linwood Elementary are also getting updates. Linwood’s building has not been updated since the 1950s.
The updates come from a bond passed in 2015.
