SPOKANE, Wash. – On Wednesday, Spokane City leaders identified the two employees who suffered critical burns at the Waste to Energy plant.
The victims have been identified as Larry Pratt, 48, and Craig Law, 39.
Officials said Pratt has been a city employee since the city took over operations of the WTE Facility in November 2014, but he has worked at the facility since July 2002. Law has also been a city employee since the city took over, but he has worked at the facility since July 2007.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the two remain in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center.
Brian Schaeffer of the Spokane Fire Department said the workers were burned while in the process of fixing a hole in a water wall. The workers were burned by steam. At this point, officials said infections to the wounds are their biggest worry.
