LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. – Comcast opened a brand new call center in Liberty Lake that is large enough to hold at least 700 employees.
Greater Spokane Incorporated said the impact of bringing more than 700 new jobs to the community is not just chump change. GSI officials estimate the new center will generate more than $90 million through taxes, payroll, benefits and the overall spending ripple effect.
Local call center directors said opening the new facility is important to them.
“It’s awesome. We live here. We know the people here. To be able to build this site and bring this many jobs to Spokane is something we could really be proud of,” said Alan Price, senior director at Comcast.
Price said 25% of current employees at the new facility are either veterans or families of those who are serving.
There are currently 500 employees working at the new call center and they are still hiring.
