Two injured in four-car collision on N. Washington St. in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Police Department is investigating a serious collision that happened in Spokane on Tuesday morning.

According to police over the span of a few blocks, four cars collided on North Washington Street and West Sinto Avenue early Tuesday. Police said the driver of a black car was driving southbound on Washington and struck a silver sedan. The black car continued to drive, police said, and then crossed the median and collided head-on with a red SUV.

Police said after the black car hit the red SUV, the car may have spun out and struck another silver car.

Authorities are unsure if the driver of the black car had a medical emergency or something else that could explain why they were driving the way they were.

Authorities have blocked off the roads while they attend to those injured. They said two victims were sent to the hospital. The driver of the black car was in critical condition, and the driver of a red car had minor injuries. Officials said there could be more injuries but it is too early to tell.

Washington is closed from Boone to Mission and will be closed for a few hours for a full investigation.

We have a crew on the scene and will provide updates as they come in.
