Citizens hold down stabbing suspect in Downtown Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Police Department is investigating a robbery and stabbing that happened on Wednesday in Downtown Spokane.

According to police, just after 1:30 p.m. officers responded to a call of two men fighting and one of them had a knife. While police were arriving, citizens in the area grabbed the suspect and held him down for police.

The victim stated he was walking down the street when a man with a knife, later identified as Jeffery E. Bush, 30, came at him and demanded the victim’s belongings. Police said the victim tried to fight off Bush and while doing so was stabbed in his hand and it will require stitches.

Police said several people came to help the victim and held Bush down.

Bush was taken to jail and faces charges of first degree robbery and first degree assault.
