SPOKANE, Wash. – A local 7-year-old is using her talents to help out animals that are in search of their forever homes.
Amalia Shenk loves to draw and found out she has quite the knack for it. Earlier this month, she started drawing pictures of animals and told her mom, Tarayn, she wanted to sell them.
When Tarayn told Amalia she could not just sell the pictures, Amalia said, “No, mom, you don’t understand!”
What Amalia said next really surprised her mom. She said she wanted to donate the money she makes from her artwork to SCRAPS and help the animals who do not have homes this winter.
“I was super proud. She’s a really giving child,” Tarayn said.
Every day, Amalia works on her drawings so that she can give back to a cause she loves.
Amalia has already sold 10 drawings. If you are interested in buying one of Amalia’s pieces, you can contact Tarayn on Facebook or visit Screaming Ink Tattoo, where they are on display.
