How to help Manzanita tornado victims

MANZANITA, Ore. – A tornado tore through the small coastal town of Manzanita Friday morning, destroying businesses and damaging homes.

The Red Cross opened a shelter for people impacted by the storm at Calvary Bible Church at 560 Laneda Avenue in Manzanita. Anyone who needs shelter should just show up.

To donate to the Red Cross and help the relief effort, visit redcross.org, call 1-800-REDCROSS and donate to Disaster Relief.

An incident command center has been set up at the former Manzanita Fire Station building, according to a Tillamook County Pioneer report. They requested back-up support from area fire departments and emergency agencies.

A warming center was also set up at the old Manzanita Fire Station.

The Tillamook People’s Utility District is working to restore power to the town. If you see a downed power line, call 503-842-2122.

We will post more ways to donate here as they become available.
