Motorcyclist killed in crash at Evergreen State Fair

A motorcyclist was killed at the Evergreen State Fair Monday when his motorcycle collided with a bus at the racetrack.

According to initial reports from Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, the 42-year-old Bothell man was new to the rider and he overshot the track. He was traveling at approximately 97 miles per hour when he crashed into the bus. The rider was wearing a helmet.

The bus was parked at Evergreen Speedway for a different event, and there was no one on the bus at the time of the crash.

Investigators do not believe there was a mechanical failure on the motorcycle. The crash was reported about noon.
