Man hit by car, seriously injured in Boise

A man hit by a car Saturday evening is in the hospital with what Boise Police describe as "significant injuries that appeared on-scene to be life-threatening."

Boise Police Dept.  communications manager Haley Williams says that at about 6:10 p.m. Saturday, a car traveling westbound on Overland Road east of Orchard Street hit the man as he was walking across the street. Police say the man was not in a crosswalk.

The driver, a woman, was questioned by police and released.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police are asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
