LAKEWOOD, Wash. - Lakewood Police Officers, city staff, and community members will be accepting food donations for the 7th Annual Fallen Officer Food Drive.

The drive honors four officers killed on November 29, 2009. Sgt. Mark Renninger and officers Greg Richards, Tina Griswold, and Ronald Owens were shot inside a coffee shop.

Members of the community are encouraged to bring donations to the Lakewood Police Station between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Tuesday.

The annual food drive benefits the Emergency Food Network of Pierce County. Donations over the past six years have totaled $138,000 and 135,000 pounds of food.

Organizers hope to reach a new goal of $150,000 and 150,000 pounds of food this year.

Donations will be accepted at the Police Station of Lakewood City Hall through December 2.
