No serious injuries in Rathdrum wreck

RATHDRUM, Idaho --- There has been a crash involving a school bus at Highway 41 and Lancaster Road in Rathdrum.

The Lakeland School District confirmed there were no serious injuries in the crash. The district transportation director said the bus was heading southbound on Highway 41 and taking a left when the bus was rear ended by a minivan.

Officials said there were 50 kids on board at the time of the crash, grades kindergarten through six.

The transportation director said the bus was hit very hard.

He said none of the kids were taken to the hospital and another bus came to take them home. About five of the children's parents came to check them out and drive them home.

Officials said there were no serious injuries,  just some with a sore neck and bruises. 

The driver of the minivan also had non-life threatening injuries. The scene was cleared as of about 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
