The Caldwell Veterans' Council hosted a celebration today after receiving a $10,000 grant from the Home Depot Foundation.
The money will be used to help turn the old Carnegie Library into a veterans hall.
People were invited to take a tour of the Caldwell Veterans Memorial Hall as part of the event.
Home Depot also provided dozens of volunteers to help install thermal insulation at the hall today.
The project is part of Home Depot's annual Celebration of Service campaign, which gives back to veterans between September first and Veterans Day.
"They're already talking about what they can do next year to help us, so they see this for the veterans, for the community, as a great asset, and they want to be a part of that," said Terry Harrell, chairman of the Caldwell Veterans' Council.
The project to renovate the old Carnegie Library into the new Caldwell Veterans Memorial Hall began in 2014. When finished the facility will provide services for more than 20,000 veterans and their families across the west end of the Treasure Valley.
