Filer School District employees on leave for 'inappropriate conduct'

FILER -- The Filer School District announced Friday that three employees have been placed on leave following a police investigation.

According to a statement from the district, school officials became aware of allegations of "inappropriate conduct" involving the three employees on Monday evening, and immediately contacted law enforcement. The Filer School District is also conducting its own independent investigation.

"The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority and we take these allegations seriously," the statement reads.

The nature of the allegations was not released, and its unclear whether the employees are teachers or hold another position in the district.

"Just as the District has a responsibility to keep students safe, we also have a responsibility not to rush to judgment and risk inadvertently causing harm to any member of our school community," the statement reads.  "We would ask for patience and understanding as the matter is investigated.  The District is committed to finding out what really happened and the facts obtained through the investigation will determine the validity of the allegations. At this point in the investigation, these are the only details we can provide. We will update you when the investigation is complete."
