Police on Thursday had asked for the public's help in finding Mariscal, who had been missing nearly a week. According to police, she was last seen walking in the Columbia Village subdivision Saturday evening, and may have headed toward the Amity Road area.

The cause of Mariscal's death is listed as pending, but the coroner says investigators do not suspect foul play. The coroner's office will conduct further testing to determine how she died.

The coroner said Mariscal died in the canal, but it hasn't been determined where she entered the canal.

It's also unclear how Mariscal ended up in the canal.
