Caldwell seniors honor World Alzheimer's Day

Staff and residents at the Autumn Wind facility marked the occasion by launching balloons.

People around the country Wednesday are recognizing World Alzheimer's Day.

September 21st is observed for the more than five million Americans living with the disease.

Residents and staff at the Autumn Wind assisted living facility in Caldwell showed their support by decorating kites and tying them to balloons.  

After a march with the kites around the facility, the balloons were released.

The goal of the demonstration was to raise awareness and eventually help fine a cure for the devastating form of dementia.
