Bumbershoot in a snapshot

Evening has the scoop on artists performing at Bumbershoot this weekend.

Bumbershoot kicked off Friday afternoon and a multitude of artists will be taking the stage throughout the weekend. We picked out a few performances to take note of.

Musician, comedian and former Seattleite Reggie Watts is making a happy homecoming on Saturday.

The human one-man-band blends electronics with an array of voices to make a unique brand of performance art. Watts hits the fisher green stage tomorrow at 5:30 PM.

Las Angeles based DJ Tokimonsta is known for her take on electronic music and hip-hop. She'll have the crowd dancing when she plays the Key Arena Saturday night.

Headlining bumbershoot Saturday are hometown heroes Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.  The two just wrapped up a series of tiny shows around western Washington, but their Memorial Stadium concert tomorrow will be anything but small.

Spinning downtempo beats with powerful vocals, Seattle singer Shaprece brings her smooth style to Bumbershoot on Sunday. The ambient artist has a new album coming out in October, but you can hear several of those tracks early when she plays live, on Sunday afternoon.

Not everyone can perform nearly shirtless at 60, but 80's icon Billy Idol is still looking good and going strong. Post-punk prince released new material in 2014, but it's classics like "Rebel Yell" and "Dancing With Myself" that fans will be yelling for when he plays the Fisher Green stage Sunday night.

Closing out the festival is local and national fave, Death Cab for Cutie. The band formed in Bellingham in the late 90's and released their eighth studio album last year. You can join them, and a few thousand more, when they rock Memorial Stadium Sunday night.
