Boise Rescue Mission thanks community partners

A local non-profit used to helping others handed out thank you's today.

The Boise Rescue Mission held their annual Community Partner Appreciation luncheon at Texas Roadhouse in Meridian.

The luncheon allows the mission to recognize various donors, volunteers and supporters -- including KTVB's own Larry Gebert.

“Well, we're going to recognize Channel 7's own Larry Gebert today because of all the great work he's done with us and for us and the way that he shows up rain, snow, sleet and hail and does a great job of promoting our events,” said Rev. Bill Roscoe. "You know I have said since the day I got here that this is the most generous community on the face of the earth, and these folks that we're going to recognize today are the living proof of that statement.”

Recently, an outpouring of support helped the rescue mission cover a $300,000 shortfall within about two weeks.
