BOISE -- Paint the Town gives low income, senior, and disabled residents a newly painted home, in an attempt to upkeep their house and brighten up their neighborhoods.

Every June Neighborhood Housing Services recruits over two thousand volunteers from local businesses, government agencies, religious groups, and other service clubs to come out each year. And organizers say this year hasn't had any shortage of helping hands. Houses got more than just a fresh coat of paint on Saturday, most had their yards landscaped, too.

When Paint the Town began in 1983, volunteers got together to improve one neighborhood. Over the years, Paint The Town has grown into a valley-wide event, accepting applications from residents throughout the valley.
