MOSCOW, Idaho -- Latah County Sheriff's deputies say a 66-year-old Moscow man died Thursday from what appears to be an accidental shooting.
Deputies were called to a home on Cameron Road in Moscow around 12:30 p.m. for a report of an unresponsive man at the bottom of a stairway. Michael J. Snow was found dead at the scene.
Investigators determined that Snow had been walking down the stairs to his basement while carrying two rifles and a pistol. It appears that he fell on the stairs and the .22 caliber pistol discharged.
The bullet struck Snow in the chest. He was home alone at the time of the accident. His wife discovered her husband upon returning home from work.
