CASCADE, Idaho -- Deputies have arrested a 32-year-old man who ditched his car on State Highway 55 and ran away from law enforcement Tuesday south of Smiths Ferry.
According to reports, the man was taken into custody without incident on Wednesday by Valley County Sheriff's Deputies with help from the Cascade Police Department.
Dispatchers say the man fled on foot during a routine traffic stop around 2:30 Tuesday afternoon about five miles south of Smith's Ferry.
He was described as potentially armed and dangerous. Dispatchers had suspected he was hiding out in the woods.
The man's name and other specific details in the case aren't being released at this time.
