MIDDLETON, Idaho -- Canyon County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Middleton man after they say he rammed his Ford Ranger pickup truck Monday into a garage door, then led authorities on a wild chase over icy roads.

Lawrence Demarse is now in jail in Caldwell facing seven charges including felony stalking, malicious injury to property, resisting arrest and violation of a no-contact order.

Before Monday's incident, Demarse was awaiting trial on charges linked to a domestic dispute.

Canyon County says Demarse was uncooperative during Monday's arrest, so they had to use a police dog.

They say he struck the dog, but was eventually detained before being transported briefly to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Demarse was eventually released from the hospital and transported to the Canyon County Detention Center.
