BOISE -- The organizers are saying it's going to be the most exciting New Year's celebration our state has ever seen.
And the highlight of event is the Idaho Potato Drop, which is made up of 16-foot long potato.
As the clock counts down to midnight, the glowing potato will be lowered from the us bank building in downtown Boise.
Confetti will be released from atop the potato's platform, and there will be a custom light show display at the end of the countdown.
"We've got a lot of really awesome partners on board that are helping bring this thing to life, and we plan on making this bigger and better every single year until the whole world is watching," said Dylan Cline, Idaho New Year's Commission CEO.
Revelers will also be treated to live music throughout the Grove Plaza, as well as magic shows, street performers, and plenty of food vendors.
The festivities get under way new years at 7:30 p.m., and the potato will begin dropping at 11:59 p.m.
KTVB is a proud sponsor of the New Year's Eve Idaho Potato Drop, and we'll be bring it to you live.
