BOISE – A retired Boise couple is the latest big winners from the Idaho Lottery.
Eugene and Hilly Penton claimed a $1 million Powerball prize today.
Eugene purchased the winning ticket for the Sept. 14 draw at the Jacksons store on Bogus Basin Road.
The couple didn't come forward right away because they keep their Powerball tickets underneath a bunch of bananas on the kitchen counter and only check them about once a month.
Eugene, 70, says they plan to pay off their house and credit card bills, and then take a trip, perhaps to Hawaii.
For selling the winning ticket, Jacksons received a $20,000 check from the Idaho Lottery.
