BOISE -- The Ada County Sheriff's Office is asking for information about a fire that consumed a playground at Shadow Hills Elementary School on Saturday afternoon.
The fire was reported by a school employee around 2:30 p.m. at the school, located near West Sloan.
Boise firefighters put out flames that had already burned wood chips, melted plastic slides and the metal play-set.
Yellow crime scene tape is now wrapped around part of the playground.
Nearby neighbors who came out to look at the damage are upset their playground is gone.
"I went to school here and it's kind of really made me sad to think that somebody or something can do this to an innocent playground, where children just come and enjoy themselves everyday," said Emma Morin, a neighbor of Shadow Hills.
Boise Fire investigators are working with Ada County Sheriff's Deputies to determine how the fire started and who might be responsible. Anyone with more information on this fire can call Ada County dispatch at 377-6790.
