TWIN FALLS, Idaho -- A 21-year-old man who was on probation when he caused more than $20,000 in damage to a Twin Falls funeral home has been sentenced to at least five years in prison.

The Times-News reports 5th District Judge Randy Stoker said both he and the state of Idaho made a mistake when they allowed Kristoffer Moreno to be put on probation for his role in a 2010 theft of firearms and ammunition.

Stoker sentenced Moreno on April 1 to two to five years for malicious injury to property for the funeral home break-in with an underlying sentence of three to eight years for the gun theft.

Prosecutors said Moreno broke into Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home on Dec. 24, 2012, damaging electronics, carpet and many other items.
