BOISE -- A Senate committee has taken steps to snuff out two more versions of synthetic marijuana.
The Senate Judiciary and Rules Committee voted unanimously Wednesday to add the drugs -- known on the street as "spice" -- to the state's list of banned substances.
The new formulas have recently been identified by the state forensics lab.
In 2010, Idaho legislators outlawed a variety of chemicals that mimic the effects of cannabis and new products that contain organic leaves coated with those chemicals that provide a marijuana-like high when smoked.
The crackdown also came amid increasing reports of bad health reactions to the products, including seizures and hallucinations.
The bill now moves to the Senate floor.
