GRANGEVILLE, Idaho -- Police in Grangeville and Boise explosive experts have determined a bomb threat at Grangeville High School was a hoax. School officials say classes resumed Thursday.

Police Chief Morgan D. Drew said late Wednesday afternoon that officers from the Boise Police Department explosives disposal unit and a bomb-trained dog searched the school and found no bombs or explosives.

The high school and the elementary/middle schools were closed Wednesday after an employee reporting for work shortly before 6 a.m. found multiple notes attached to the high school doors warning of a bomb.

Drew says such threats must be taken seriously. He says there will be an increased police presence at the high school for the rest of the week.

Superintendent Greg Bailey has said students will have to make up the missed day.
