EUREKA, MT --An Amber Alert that extended into Idaho is now cancelled. The British Columbia Amber Alert Coordinator called it off Friday morning after the 3-year-old boy at the center of the alert was found safe in Montana. Authorities say Alvin Barnett's biological father took the boy from a city in Elk Valley, British Columbia.
On Friday shortly before 8 a.m., the BC Amber Alert Coordinator advised the child had been located safely in Montana. The boy's father, Robert Barnett, was taken into custody.
Barnett's vehicle, a 2002 blue Subaru Outback, was seen crossing the border in Eureka, MT at around 3:15 p.m. Thursday.
Police had asked anyone who may have seen the pair not to approach them, and instead call 911.
