BOISE -- Five people arrested Wednesday afternoon near the Boise Towne Square Mall are accused of stealing from 10 stores in the area.
Juana Perez, 20, and Phyllis Perez, 41, of Nyssa, Oregon, and Joni Bewley, 38, of Ontario, Oregon, are in the Ada County Jail on burglary and grand theft charges. Two other suspects are juveniles.
Boise Police spokesman Chuck McClure says officers saw the suspects repeatedly walk into stores, hide merchandise and return to a car in the parking lot. He says they came to Boise with the intent to steal.
Officers who searched their car found stolen merchandise - mostly clothing - worth more than $1,000.
Police have evidence that suggests they planned to sell to the stolen items.
