Thousands show up to RibFest in Meridian

MERIDIAN -- Thousands of people spent Saturday afternoon at Kliener Park in Meridian to get a chance to eat some mouth watering barbeque.

RibFest is a barbeque competition looking for the best recipes in the area.

Chefs are competing for a $10,000 purse and the title of Grand Champion.

Robby Washington with Shanz's Home Cooking & Soul Food explains why his babyback ribs are going to win. "The home touch we put to it, everything is personalized, everything is done from scratch."

Admission is free to get in, but to eat you'll need to buy tokens.

The competition picks back up again Sunday .
