Boise couple dies in Oregon head-on crash

Oregon State Police say a Boise couple died after the SUV they were driving crashed into a pickup truck pulling a cattle trailer on Sunday afternoon. The pickup's driver was also killed.

MALHEUR COUNTY -- Oregon State Police troopers say 33-year-old Courtney Glick-Peterson and 26-year-old Zach Peterson from Boise died in a head-on crash 26 miles north of Vale, Oregon on Sunday.

The crash was reported around 3:40 p.m. near milepost 24 of Highway 26.

According to Sergeant Mark Duncan, Courtney Glick-Peterson was driving eastbound on the highway when she drove her 1999 Chevy sport utility vehicle into the westbound lane and hit a Dodge pickup pulling an empty livestock trailer.

Police say the pickup was driven by 76-year-old Eugene Albert Bernard from Paulina, Oregon, who was also killed.

All three people died at the scene.

Additionally, troopers report Zach Peterson was not using safety restraints and was ejected from the vehicle.

OSP troopers were assisted at the scene by Malheur County Sheriff's Office, Brogan Quick Response Unit, Vale Fire & Ambulance, and ODOT. The highway was closed for several hours during the scene investigation.
