BOISE -- An Ada County Sheriff's deputy accused of forcing himself on a woman last fall has resigned, but he will not be charged with a criminal offense.

A spokeswoman for the sheriff's office tells us 47-year-old Sgt. Joe Wright left the department last Monday.

Allegations of his sexual advances triggered a criminal investigation.

The Gem County prosecutor's office reviewed all the allegations in order to avoid a conflict of interest.

Late last week, the Gem County prosecutor decided there is not enough evidence to file criminal charges against Wright.

His alleged victim has filed a notice of tort claim, asking for $1.5 million.
