SHOSHONE, Idaho -- A 35-year-old Shoshone woman has been sentenced to at least 10 years in prison for a plot to kill her former father-in-law.

Traci Hadden was sentenced Tuesday by 5th District Judge John Butler. She was given a 15-year term for aiding and abetting in the attempted murder of 60-year-old Craig Hadden, but will be eligible for parole after serving 10 years. She was also sentenced to a concurrent 10 years for receiving stolen property.

The sentence will be served following a seven-year sentence she is already serving for stealing cattle.

Prosecutors say Traci Hadden plotted with her son, Blue, and Michael Cannon, to kill Craig Hadden, who was shot four times with a .30-06 rifle outside his home on April 1, 2009. Prosecutors say Traci Hadden was having a sexual relationship with Cannon, then 16.

Cannon was sentenced to four to 12 years in prison for attempted murder. Blue Hadden was committed to juvenile corrections after admitting to property crimes connected to his grandfather.
