The Boise Police Department shared this story on Facebook, about a driver who thanked an officer for writing a citation. The Dept. says Officer Schultz has been with the Boise PD Motors Unit for more than 13 years and has written a lot of citations. But in this incident, the driver thanked Officer Schultz for enforcing safety, saying: "Because of this, you allowed me to see where I was wrong and I wanted to thank you for that, not only for me, but from my family as well."

Boise Police Public Information Officer Lynn Hightower shared this note with NWCN, with this statement: "Traffic citations really are about eduacting people as to why we have traffic laws - for their safety."
