WORLEY, ID. -- The owner of a Worley fireworks stand that went up in a dazzling inferno over the weekend says he will rebuild.
The entire fireworks stand exploded this weekend that could be seen for miles. Two vehicles were also burnt in the fire near Adeline's Smoke Shop off Highway 95.
Delaine Sczenki was working at the stand when the fire started. She says her daughter lit a small ground flower firework in the parking lot, but it jumped into the shop, igniting a package of bottle rockets, and causing a chain reaction.
One firework shot at Delaine's car and the other got her father's truck.
Don Sczenski owns the stand.
"[My] first concern was making sure everybody got out safe and it was kind of like, holy smokes you know? It was bad," says Don.
He estimates about $10,000 worth of fireworks went up in flames -- money directly out of his pocket.
With the help of family and friends, Sczenski has already started to rebuild. He had more fireworks in storage, and just one day after the fire he was back in business with a temporary stand.
"No sense whining about it," says Don. "You can't lay down. You got get up and go."
